There are many in the New England Patriots organization who are completely on board with the team acquiring DeAndre Hopkins, and one player is willing to put his money where his mouth is.
Matthew Judon is always known for his recruiting efforts, often taking to Twitter. On Saturday night, he responded to one fan who sent a message to Hopkins, proving his sincerity in the receiver joining the Patriots.
The fan privately messaged Hopkins, writing "I will donate $500 to the charity of your choice if you sign with N.E."
The fan then took a screenshot of his message to Hopkins and tagged Judon.
The Patriots linebacker simply responded to the tweet, saying "I'll match" while also tagging Hopkins.
Hopkins is scheduled to visit with the Patriots next week. This came after a source told A to Z Sports that New England was interested in the star receiver and would monitor his market.
The report came just before the Patriots hosted their final open OTA session, with many players asked about the possibility of the receiver joining the roster.
Among those interested were Kendrick Bourne, who even gave a pitch for Hopkins to join, along with Adrian Phillips who is impressed by the receivers ability to make some memorable one-handed grabs.
With that, there were other reports that Bill O'Brien wouldn’t be opposed to working with Hopkins again after their time together when O'Brien was the head coach of the Houston Texans.
What's next is to figure out if Judon will be out $500 dollars and gain a strong teammate, or if the linebacker will get to keep his money.
