The New England Patriots have not been shy in their pursuit of DeAndre Hopkins, but they have some tough competition to sign the star receiver.

According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, the Patriots and Tennessee Titans have made offers to Hopkins, but one team has been more forward.

"The Titans have been more aggressive to this point and Hopkins hasn’t been in a rush to sign," Reiss wrote. "One reason for Hopkins to wait a bit longer is to leave open the possibility of another team entering the mix, potentially increasing his market."

Hopkins has had visits with both teams, with his time with the Patriots on June 14th and 15th reportedly being very successful. And it's clear that there is mutual interest between Hopkins and the Patriots

The star receiver would add another layer to the Patriots offense, providing Mac Jones with a skilled weapon.

However, there might be another team in the mix for Hopkins.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported on SportsCenter that "the Chiefs have kept in contact" with Hopkins. Coming off a Super Bowl championship, they have a lot to offer the star receiver, but are lacking in one area.

According to Over The Cap, Kansas City only has $409,942 available in cap space. However, the Patriots have $17,742,542 available, which fits within the desired amount Hopkins was reportedly looking for. Hopkins appears to want a contract similar to Odell Beckham Jr., who signed with the Baltimore Ravens for $15M in April.

As for the Titans, Over The Cap shows that they have $8,309,923 available.

And for the team that is able to sign Hopkins, they might be able to bring on additional talent.

Free agent running back Dalvin Cook expressed interest in playing with Hopkins.

"If we can get up on the same roster and be on the same team, that will be the beauty of the situation," Cook said on the Adam Schefter podcast." If we end up on the same roster, that would be something epic for the NFL."

The next few weeks will be telling as the teams get ready to begin training camp, and Hopkins will certainly be keeping his eyes open to see where he will best fit.
