The New Orleans Saints are probably saying goodbye to a long-time playmaker for their offense. According to his Twitter (X), Michael Thomas already has one foot out of the door.
He went on a multi-post rant on the social media platform on Sunday afternoon. Thomas called out quarterback Derek Carr and the Saints' entire organization.
Firstly, Thomas mentions that he may be moving to a new team in a subtle way.
His mention of timing probably points to the fact that he is a free agent and may be headed to another team. He'll look to join a contender, undoubtedly, and the Saints are not high on his list probably. His following posts proved that idea.
Thomas replied to a mentioning of his own injury by blaming Saints QB Derek Carr.
He believes that a better ball would have allowed MT to avoid injury this season. In reality, the pass was not the sole reasoning for his issue. He took an awkward hit, and that happens in football.
Regardless, he held no punches when discussing the throw by Carr. There's a lack of respect there.
Next, he called out the entire organization, mentioning that they have not found a new offensive coordinator yet.
Thomas seems to believe that is because of the instability within the team, potentially in the front office and coaching staff. There is no way to know if that is the case or not.
No matter what – the veteran WR is very unhappy. The Saints may try to bring him back during the offseason, but these posts make that concept seem quite far-fetched.
Don't be shocked if they get deleted at some point, too.
