The New Orleans Saints have made a decision on their quarterback depth. Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton will be the QBs on the opening week roster. Taysom Hill will be listed at tight end. They announced today that they are releasing second-year QB Ian Book.
Book played a lot in the preseason. He had plenty of up's and down's throughout preseason and training camp. Ultimately, the Saints decided to roll with their two veterans and allow the young QB to go through waivers.
Book started one game last season due to injuries. He went 12-20 for 135 yards and two interceptions.
It is possible that he returns on the practice squad for the Saints.
