Klint Kubiak has placed plenty of hype around the New Orleans Saints offense in 2024. It's been natural, too. Kubiak is a man of many words, but his decisions and plans have lined up with what fans have been asking for in recent years. The Saints need more consistency this season from the offense, and Taysom Hill can be a useful piece for the new OC.

Hill is having to do things he's never done before for the Saints as they prepare for the 2024 season with a brand new offensive scheme.

Kubiak has a special plan for Taysom.

According to reporters at practice, Hill has been used in multiple roles already around the offense. He's lined up as a shotgun running back, a lead blocker at fullback, and his usual tight end role.

Saints fans will appreciate that Kubiak is embracing Hill's talent and effort. He could have come in and taken him out of the offense to a degree, because of his unique skillset. Instead, he has had a great time working Hill into the scheme.

According to the new OC, he and Hill had a positive conversation about Kubiak’s vision for Hill in the offense. They are on the same page.

Taysom is enjoying the new challenge given to him, too.

"It's weird to say after seven years of doing what I've been doing that I'm being asked to do things I've never done before. That is exciting to me and it's challenging, and I love to be challenged like that. I'm grateful for those guys creating unique and fun opportunities for me." — via the New Orleans Advocate

Only 29 of Hill’s 426 offensive snaps came from the backfield in 2023. Only one of those snaps was at fullback, according to Pro Football Focus. Clearly, there will be a shift in his usage.

All in all, Taysom's expansion in the offense can be invigorating for the fan base. He is a fan favorite who has proven he's a lot more than just a gadget guy during his time in New Orleans.

He deserves a prominent part in the offense, and Kubiak is delivering exactly that.
