The New Orleans Saints just made some major waves in the NFL world.
It was reported on Monday that the Saints still had interest in free agent tight end Foster Moreau who they brought in for a visit in March. Of course, it's no secret that Moreau was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma during a physical he took for the Saints and had to step away from the NFL for treatment.
Wednesday saw everything come full circle for the Saints and Foster and a potential marriage. The two sides have agreed to a three-year deal worth $12 million with $8 million fully guaranteed according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Moreau has more than his new deal to be happy about.
The former Las Vegas Raider recently got some good news on where he is in his treatment, which is still currently getting. New Orleans will bring Moreau along at a sensible pace and he isn't expected to have any limitations.
Moreau is no stranger to the New Orleans area. He was born and raised there and was a standout at Jesuit High School where he helped them win a state championship. Moreau also attended college at LSU in Baton Rouge where he racked up 629 yards and six touchdowns on 52 receptions during his four years there.
This also reunites Moreau with an old teammate. Quarterback Derek Carr played four years with Foster while they were on the Raiders. Moreau caught 91 passes for 1,107 yards and 12 touchdowns during that span.
After what Moreau got hit with as far as his cancer diagnosis, this is fantastic news. He has his new NFL home, and his road to recovery is going smoothly. It doesn't get any better than that.
