Saints: Cam Jordan's work ethic inspired by father who played in the NFL

The New Orleans Saints have been spoiled in a sense on their defensive line for the last 12 seasons with edge rusher Cam Jordan on the roster.
He was taken in the first round in 2011 and has racked up 115.5 sacks, three All-Pro selections, and eight Pro Bowls. You don't get to that level without a great world ethic and inspiration.
For Jordan, he got that from his dad, Steve, who played for the Minnesota Vikings for over a decade.
"As much as you'd want to complain, you see this man getting it," Jordan said on SiriusXM Radio's "Generations" series. "He's running 50-yard sprints, 75-yard sprints, he's got a whole system running these old Viking workouts, which was really the key. I stole them the first two years just because he was always in shape. He was always running, he was doing these NFL iron man workouts or whatever it is, so I couldn't complain too much. And here we are doing two or three gassers and he's doing a full gambit of them.
"So, you have to eat that and realize that there's a reason why he made the league, there's a reason why he played for 13 years, there's a reason why he was a six-time Pro Bowler."
The elder Jordan caught 498 passes for 6,307 yards and 28 touchdowns. He earned six Pro Bowl selections (1986-1991), and an All-Pro nod (1989). Also, was named one of the 50 greatest Vikings, a member of their 40th-anniversary team, and was put in their ring of honor.
Ironically, the leader of the Saints defense is entering his 13th NFL campaign and he's coming off of 66 tackles and 8.5 sacks in 2022. So, Jordan isn't just another guy on the roster, he's still a major factor.
It's safe to say that following his dad's blueprint has worked wonders for Jordan.
