New Orleans Saints are taking care of their own in a big way ahead of their Week 3 game.

Defensive end Carl Granderson has received a nice contract extension from the Saints for four years. Now as a full-time starter, Granderson is off to a strong start in 2023.

Through two starts this season, Granderson already has 2.5 sacks, five tackles, and a tackle for a loss. The fifth-year defensive end is well on his way to his best season ever.

Last season in 16 games, Granderson had 5.5 sacks in 16 games, though there were just four starts in 2022 for him. Pairing with Cameron Jordan, Granderson is a very nice complementary piece.

In the previous three seasons, Granderson had a combined nine sacks and just three starts as a depth player. Granderson joined the Saints in 2019 as an undrafted free agent.

From undrafted free agent to receiving a deal with $35 million guaranteed, Granderson has worked his way into being a solid player in the NFL and this deal shows that.
