The New Orleans Saints are approaching mandatory minicamp time during the offseason. This summer is in full swing as they prepare for a bounce-back campaign in 2024. 2023 simply was not good enough, and OTAs have been the first true look at the team on the field as they get ready to rev up for the upcoming season.

Who has stood out the most during 2024 OTAs for New Orleans? The answer should not surprise anyone. It's a proven player that wants to show the world that he has plenty left in the tank for his NFL career.

Veteran LB Demario Davis dominating during practice

The Pro Bowl linebacker is not taking it easy on the young guys. He knows that their best chance to improve is to play against the best of the best. Many will agree that Davis is that sort of LB in the league.

The reps against Davis and other starters will be extremely valuable for Spencer Rattler, Jake Haener, as well as young running backs and tight ends.

Davis is the center of the Saints team, regardless of offense or defense. He's the leader. His consistency even in his mid-30s has been very impressive in recent years.

Davis caught headlines last week for his strong statement to his teammates. He wanted more participation from the rest of the roster, seemingly. OTAs are optional, but Davis was a key part every day – whether it was on or off of the practice field.

"I imagine if you look over at Kansas City they probably got 100% particpation and they won the Super Bowl…"

Davis is a fiery leader that has been a top five linebacker in football annually during his Saints career. He does not seem to be slowing down anytime soon after a strong OTAs performance.
