The New Orleans Saints just got some news that they have heard one too many times by now. You probably already know where this is going, but star receiver Michael Thomas has been placed on the injured reserve list, again.

However, this time there is concern that he may be out for the rest of the season, again.

Being on the injured reserve list means players are out for at least four games, but there are reports that Thomas is having surgery on his toe.

Thomas was once considered the best receiver in the league. He broke the NFL record for most catches in a season in 2019 and has been a huge reason the New Orleans offense was so elite when he was playing. Now, by the time this season is over, he will have missed 40 games in three seasons.

Something as big as this can't be easy on the guy.

"Yeah, obviously we know what Mike [Thomas] has been able to do in this offense, and we would love to have him out there, but for him, the most important part is getting healthy at this point," quarterback Andy Dalton said.

"Since I have been here and seen him in this building, he has done everything he can to make sure that he can put himself in the best possible situation. It is unfortunate just throughout the last couple of years the injuries that he has had. Sometimes it just happens that way, but he's a guy that will do anything in his power to try and get back."

There was so much hype behind the Saints' receiving corps coming into this season. They were supposed to have the three-headed monster with Thomas, Jarvis Landry, and Chris Olave.

So far, it has been all Olave, who is a rookie.

We hope he comes back better than ever because when he does, this offense is going to be scary good.

His teammates are confident he can come back strong. Heck, Andy Dalton who hasn't even played with him, is confident. That just says a lot about how hard Thomas works.
