Aaron Rodgers has been participating in New York Jets OTAs over the last couple of weeks, but he won't attend mandatory minicamp this week and it's an unexcused absence, per head coach Robert Saleh.

Apparently, Rodgers had a prescheduled "event" that was important to him. Still, the fact that it's unexcused subjects the future Hall of Famer to fines that can add up to over $100k, at the end of the day.

So, naturally, it begs the question of what is this ever-important event that Rodgers is attending?

Let's take a few stabs at guessing where in the world Waldo Rodgers could be.

1. A family reunion

The summer months are well-known for family gatherings at the highest level and this could easily be the case with the Rodgers crew.

Rodgers is well-known for his close family ties, so it would make a ton of sense if he's taking the familial route over the offseason slog during his final years of professional football. He's missed out on so many events and run-ins because of the NFL's demanding nature – there's only so much time left for him to catch up.

Who could really hate on that? A family man? If Rodgers is out strengthening his bonds with those closest to him, I mean, this could end up looking bad on the Jets when they ultimately fine him.

2. Establishing the real version of TKE

College campuses beware: Aaron Rodgers' fictional frat house might be making a landing in your area, soon.

This harkens all the way back to 2010, which seems like ages ago, at this point, but I digress. Regardless, Rodgers and current Packers third-string QB at the time, Graham Harrell, were so close he started referencing them as frat brothers. That turned into a running joke that resulted in Rodgers coming up with the fake frat house, Tau Eppa Kapsilon.

The joke led to Rodgers and Harrell attending an actual frat party at an actual TKE house, which is pretty epic, to be honest.

Those fond memories could easily have Rodgers scouring the nation, hoping to find the perfect location for his version of TKE. I mean, how can you blame a guy for following his dreams?

3. Renegotiations with State Farm

Rodgers and State Farm had a wonderful, 12-year relationship that tanked after the whole COVID vaccine debacle where Rodgers fibbed about his vaccination status.

While that's a pretty harsh ending, 12 years is a long time. There's a lot of trust, work, and just overall emotion that goes into a relationship like that. Even though it ended, relationships last that long, usually, for a reason. And who knows, maybe the estranged partners will one day find each other, again. That could be what's happening, this week.

The sponsorship deal recently ended as soon as after the 2022 season, so while the split may still be a bit raw in terms of negative emotions. There's also a chance the positive emotions are still flowing and not fully closed off, just yet.

To salvage a relationship like this would take a big step on Rodgers' end to prove he's serious about righting his wrongs. What better way to prove you're true than skipping a mandatory work event that is unexcused?

Now, that, is dedication.

In all seriousness, this isn't a big deal and hopefully the jest of the article pops through your computer screen. Rodgers has attended OTAs this offseason and he was even at Monday's team photo gathering (on the other hand Haason Reddick was not, which is the real story, here). This is most likely a scheduling conflict, even if it's unexcused.

Either way, there's a 100% guarantee Rodgers is there when training camp kicks off at the end of July.
