The NFL roster is 53 men. No more. No less. So, with cut downs looming for all 32 teams, the Jets will have to make some tough decisions.

In 2020 the Jets thought they found a diamond in the rough at corner with Bryce Hall who they drafted in the fifth round out of Virginia. Hall started eight games his rookie season and impressed.

Going into 2021 Hall earned the starting left corner spot and started 17 games for the Jets. He had no interceptions but did manage 16 pass breakups in only his sophomore season.

Going into the 2022 season it looked like Hall was on a track to being a decent starting corner in the NFL. Enter Sauce Gardner and DJ Reed. The Jets completely revamped the back end of their defense leaving Hall without a spot.

New York had already brought in Michael Carter II out of Duke to cover the slot and Hall was regulated to bench. Once the Jets realized what they had in both Sauce and Reed, there wasn’t much playing time left for Hall.

Hall only appeared in five games last year and didn’t record a stat.

Now with the Jets ready to roll with a top tier defense to go along with Aaron Rodgers, Hall will likely see his last game with the Jets after week one against the Buffalo Bills.

Brandin Echols received a one-game suspension from the NFL for violating the league's personal conduct policy. The suspension stems from a two-car crash that Echols was involved in back in April 2022.

Because Echols will not count towards the 53-man roster out of camp, Hall will likely receive a stay of execution. Once Echols serves his one game suspension, the Jets will likely bring him back to the roster and Hall will find his way to the waiver wire.

While Hall is not a full-time starter in the NFL, he has definitely shown enough to warrant a spot on a cornerback needy team. He played really well his sophomore season when thrust into the starting job and can likely help an organization on the back end.
