On Tuesday, Aaron Rodgers came forward with a severe confession that stopped his miraculous comeback attempt.
The quarterback was on the "Pat McAfee Show" on Tuesday, finally providing an honest update on his status just three months after tearing his Achilles tendon.
"If I was 100% today, I'd be definitely pushing to play," he said on the show. "But the fact is, I'm not."
However, the Jets have made an interesting roster move just a day later despite Rodgers' admission.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Rodgers will be activated off injured reserve and take a spot on the Jets 53-man roster.
It seems interesting that New York would take up a spot on the roster for someone they don't intend on playing. However, with the team eliminated from the playoffs, maybe their focus is on next season.
ESPN's Adam Schefter provided some additional insight into the decision.
Zach Wilson, Trevor Siemian, and Brett Rypien remain the other three quarterbacks currently on the active roster.
Rodgers went down just 75 seconds into his debut with the Jets after being sacked by Leonard Floyd. He originally stood up, but immediately sat back down on the ground and trainers rushed over to him.
He was then helped off the field, limping to the sideline and Zach Wilson came in to replaced Rodgers. A cart was brought over to the sidelines soon after and Rodgers was loaded onto the back and brought back into the locker room.
An MRI later confirmed that Rodgers torn his Achilles.
While this news might provide an additional spark of hope for fans, don't count on Rodgers playing in a game this season.

Just three months after tearing his Achilles tendon four offensive plays into his New York Jets career, Aaron Rodgers was back on the practice field with a goal of playing again this season. While many wrote it off as impossible or far-fetched, Rodgers proved […]
