Aaron Rodgers' night is officially done.
The New York Jets announced that the quarterback is officially ruled out after suffering an ankle injury in the season opener against the Buffalo Bills.
The Jets added that his x-rays were negative.
On Monday night, Aaron Rodgers went down after being sacked by Leonard Floyd. He originally stood up, but immediately sat back down on the ground and trainers rushed over to him.
He was then helped off the field, limping to the sideline and Zach Wilson came in to replaced Rodgers. A cart was brought over to the sidelines soon after and Rodgers was loaded onto the back and brought back into the locker room.
The Athletic's Dianna Russini posted a photo of Rodgers on the back of the cart after he was spotted leaving the X-Ray room with a walking boot on. However, he was taken back to the locker room, showing that his night was over.
Rodgers was traded to the Jets this offseason from the Packers, marking a new start for the quarterback. New York then brought in a lot of help for the Rodgers, with many believing them to be true Super Bowl contenders
While the preliminary results of his X-Rays are negative (which is a good thing for the team), it is still unknown how long Rodgers will be sidelined due to this injury.
