The New York Jets received some bad news on Monday night.

Aaron Rodgers went down just minutes into the game and was helped to the sideline, later being carted off from the field. He was officially ruled out with an ankle injury and it was announced that his x-rays were negative.

However, NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reports that "there is fear" Rodgers has an achilles injury. He is expected to have an MRI on Tuesday.

Rodgers went down after being sacked by Leonard Floyd. He originally stood up, but immediately sat back down on the ground and trainers rushed over to him.

He was then helped off the field, limping to the sideline and Zach Wilson came in to replaced Rodgers. A cart was brought over to the sidelines soon after and Rodgers was loaded onto the back and brought back into the locker room.

Mark Adickes, a former NFL offensive lineman turned orthopedic surgeon, provided his opinion on the injury after watching the film back claiming that an achilles injury was certainly one of the possibilities.

According to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, Rodgers was still in the building at 9:38 p.m., after he was last pictured leaving the X-Ray room with a boot on his left foot/ankle.

His status for the remainder of the season remains unknown at this time.
