The New York Giants are bringing back a familiar face for their defense. They announced that they are signing edge rusher Oshane Ximines to bolster their DL depth.

Ximines has been solid depth for New York over the past few seasons. His production hasn't been flashy, but he is a good backup that fits their scheme. Last season was arguably his best season of his career so far, even if that wasn't the case on the stat sheet.

Earlier this week, I discussed why the Giants needed to bring back Ximines and sign a couple of other impactful free agents.

Reunion alert! The Giants would be smart to bring back a player that they know is a scheme fit for some veteran depth. Ximines totaled 24 tackles and two sacks last season in limited playing time. He is a fluid athlete off the edge, and Wink Martindale loves that in his defense. After not receiving a deal during the first wave of free agency, his price may have dropped. The Giants could slide in and grab him on a solid, short-term deal.

This is a nice add for the defense at this point in free agency for the Giants. Ximines will play a legitimate depth role this season once again.
