The New York Giants came out victorious in its second preseason game ahead of the 2023 NFL regular season. But more than just the scoreboard, there were some exciting positives to take away from the game.

Especially the emergence of Jalin Hyatt. The rookie wide receiver had a forgettable preseason opener, but he more than bounced back in the second game. There, Hyatt showcased what he will be able to bring to the Giants offense.

Hyatt adds gamebreaking long speed to an offense that desperately needed that last season. He gets open down the field with ease and can consistently take the top off the defense. Which is what he put on display in the latest preseason action.

The rookie out of Tennessee grabbed four passes, turning those catches into 35 yards and a score. Hyatt averaged just under nine yards per reception in the contest and was getting open with relative ease.

Giants backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor found Hyatt for a deep score on Friday night. He forced the safety to the middle of the field and quickly found the open space for his first touchdown of the preseason.

That play should excite New York Giants fans with the season quickly approaching. New York has been lacking explosive weapons on the outside for Daniel Jones to get the ball to.

Hyatt looks primed to change that in a big way. Drafted in the third-round, Jalin Hyatt has the opportunity to carve out a meaningful role and be the outside playmaker that Brian Daboll and the offense needs.
