One of the top prospects in the 2024 NFL draft was arrested Sunday morning.
KXAN News reported that Texas DT T'Vondre Sweat was arrested Sunday morning and is facing a DWI charge.
Sweat Is coming off his best collegiate season, which included being named the 2023 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, as well as receiving the John Outland trophy in 2023, which is given to the nation's "Most Outstanding Interior Defensive lineman."
Sweat, at one point this draft cycle, was getting mocked to hear his name called late in round one after a stellar showing at the 2024 Senior Bowl. Those takes have cooled off a bit, but the talented DT is still projected to be a top-50 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. But now, with this arrest, we will have to wait and see if this has an impact on his draft stock.
The piece from KXAN News had the following to say about the incident:
"Records show Sweat, 22, was arrested by the Austin Police Department and booked into Travis County Jail at 2:12 p.m. Sunday. Driving while intoxicated is a Class B misdemeanor. Sweat’s bond was set at $3,000."
