The top 2025 NFL Draft prospects will be flocking to Indianapolis this week to take part in the NFL Scouting Combine. Over 300 of the top prospects in the class will hope to impress every NFL scout and decision maker in attendance, and to move quickly up the board.
On the defensive side of the football, this is a group littered with outstanding athletes. There are several players who have a chance to shock some folks with their testing on the field. Here are those freaks who could be due for a massive bump.
EDGE Shemar Stewart (Texas A&M)
Good luck finding a more physically impressive prospect this cycle than Stewart. At a hair over 6-5 and 280 pounds, the explosiveness he possesses is eye popping. Stewart may still be raw a player, but he has every athletic gift you could dream of. There is a chance he puts together one of the best combine performances we have ever seen at the position.
DT Kenneth Grant (Michigan)
Players at over 6-3 and 342 pounds aren’t supposed to move like Grant. There is a lot of Dontari Poe in Grant’s game, both positively and negatively. There is a very good chance that he runs sub 5 seconds in the forty-yard dash at that size. Get ready to be amazed.
LB Demetrius Knight (South Carolina)
Knight has one of the more interesting backstories in the 2025 class. The former Georgia Tech quarterback has gone from Transfer Portal sensation from Charlotte to stellar performer for South Carolina, and now a 2025 NFL Draft riser. The range Knight possesses on film is outstanding, especially in a nearly 6-2 and 248-pound frame.
CB Azareye'h Thomas (Florida State)
It’s hard to fall in love with Thomas’s game. He is a tall press cornerback with tremendous physicality, and surprising change of direction skills. If Thomas runs a good forty-yard dash time, he has a chance to propel himself into the first round conversation. He’s that good.
S Nick Emmanwori (South Carolina)
You don’t see many 6-3 and 227-pound safeties walking around. Emmanwori is also a tremendous athlete, and moves like a much smaller defender. From an explosiveness perspective, Emmanwori has a chance to do some crazy stuff this week. He’s already viewed as a potential first rounder, and that could be solidified after Indy.

This Rams roster would look pretty cool with a good quarterback.
