With the 2024 regular season officially over, 18 teams have already begun preparing for the offseason and the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.

Our team of NFL Draft contributors at A to Z Sports has been scouting this class for months, each developing our own personal rankings.

We each ranked our top ten players, then tallied the point totals similar to what you have likely seen with the AP Poll in college football to create our group's top ten players at each position.

Below are the results for how we see the top 10 running backs in this year's class today.

1. Ashton Jeanty, Boise State

Highest Ranking: 1
Lowest Ranking: 1

This will come as no surprise to anyone, but Boise State's Ashton Jeanty received every single first-place ranking from our team. The 2024 Heisman Trophy runner-up is coming off one of the greatest seasons college football has ever seen by a running back. He led the entire FBS with 374 rushing attempts and 2,601 yards. His 29 rushing touchdowns were the most by any RB and only trailed Army quarterback Bryson Daily overall, who finished the year with 32.

2. Kaleb Johnson, RB, Iowa

Highest Ranking: 2
Lowest Ranking: 6

Iowa's Kaleb Johnson's great season impressed our team and earned him the second-place ranking, with 10 more points than third place. Johnson led the Big 10 with 1,537 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns. He received the most second-place votes, with three, and the most third-place votes, with two.

3. Omarion Hampton, North Carolina

Highest Ranking: 2
Lowest Ranking: 6

Coming in at third is North Carolina's Omarion Hampton. Hampton followed up his impressive sophomore season by leading the ACC for a second straight year with 1,660 yards and matched his career high with 15 rushing touchdowns. Hampton received two second-place votes and one-third, with his lowest ranking being a single sixth-place vote.

4. Nicholas Singleton, Penn State

Highest Ranking: 2
Lowest Ranking: 10

Penn State's Nicholas Singleton comes in at third after receiving one second-place vote and two third-place votes. Singleton's workload isn't quite as large as most of the backs included here, bringing his numbers down as a result. But even with only 157 attempts, he still rushed for 1,015 yards and nine touchdowns, adding 32 receiving yards and five touchdowns. His skill set is bound to excite teams, and his projection to the pro level played a major factor in his ranking.

5. Quinshon Judkins

Highest Ranking: 2
Lowest Ranking: 10

Rounding up the top five is the first of two Ohio State RBs, Quinshon Judkins. Judkins split time in the Buckeye backfield, so like Singleton, his numbers don't quite reach the heights of some backs in this class. He turned 174 attempts into 924 yards and 10 touchdowns, all of which were the lowest marks of his college career after transferring to Ohio State from Ole Miss. Though he came in fifth, he impressed one of the voters enough to receive a second-place vote and two-thirds.

6. TreVeyon Henderson

Highest Ranking: 4
Lowest Ranking: 8

Back-to-back Buckeyes on the list as TreVeyon Henderson follows Judkins. The two were truly a two-headed monster in Ohio State's backfield. Henderson turned 126 attempts into 925 yards and ten touchdowns. And is also one of, if not the best, blocker in this year's RB class. Henderson's two fourth-place votes helped to separate him comfortably from seventh place in our rankings.

7. Dylan Sampson

Highest Ranking: 7
Lowest Ranking: 9

Dylan Sampson, out of Tennessee, is one of just three players on this list to land at their highest-ranking position. His variance of votes is also one of the smallest, with his highest vote coming in at seventh and his lowest being ninth. Sampson more than doubled his past two seasons combined in 2024 by setting career highs across the board with 258 attempts, 1,491 yards, and 22 touchdowns.

8. DJ Giddens, Kansas State

Highest Ranking: 2
Lowest Ranking: 11

Sampson's variance was one of the smallest and Kansas State's DJ Giddens is one of the largest. His highest ranking came all the way to second, but his lowest fell out of the top ten altogether at 11th. Giddens led Kansas State with 1,343 yards and seven touchdowns

9. Ollie Gordon, Oklahoma State

Highest Ranking: 5
Lowest Ranking: 12

Oklahoma State's Ollie Gordon entered the season with high expectations after leading the FBS with 1,732 yards in 2023, paired with 21 touchdowns. But like the rest of his offense, he saw a fairly large step back in 2024 as he had over half fewer yards with only 880 on 190 attempts and found the end zone eight fewer times with 13. Still, he has much to like as a prospect, and two of our voters even gave him fifth-place votes in their rankings.

10. Devin Neal, RB, Kansas

Highest Ranking: 5
Lowest Ranking: 12

Last up in the tenth spot is Kansas' Devin Neal. Neal had a really strong four-year career as a Jayhawk. He rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of the last three seasons, with him rushing for 1,266 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2024. Though he comes in at 10, he received one-fifth of the vote and a seventh from our team to help separate him from the rest of the back.

Players who just missed the cut:

11. Damien Martinez, Miami
12. Cameron Skattebo, Arizona State
