The 2025 NFL Scouting Combine is set to kick off on Thursday, February 27th. For the next several days after that, over 300 of the most talented 2025 NFL Draft prospects will hope to impress evaluators and decision makers from across the NFL. Some prospects will have more on the line than others, while some will rest on their film and background to do the talking. A lot of draft hype rises and dies in the wonderful city of Indianapolis.
At the skill positions, which include quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, there are several players that will have a lot of eyes on them. These six prospects have a chance to rise tremendously with a big week. In the latest edition of A to Z Film Room, we put those players under the microscope.
QB Jalen Milroe (Alabama)
It has not been a good draft process so far for Milroe, who had a ton of struggles at the 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl. He heads into the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine needing a huge performance. It’s going to start with the interviews, and proceed into impressing as a thrower on the field. It also might be in his best interest to test, and dazzle as an athlete. You need an NFL team to bet on the upside Milroe brings to the table.
QB Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss)
Most don’t know this but Dart was actually originally recruited by some schools to play safety. He is a very good athlete, and should test as such. Some of the biggest questions surrounding Dart revolve around processing speed and general arm strength. While the former won’t be answered, showcasing better arm strength than anticipated in the throwing portion of the drills would be nice. Dart is expected to interview well.
RB TreyVeon Henderson (Ohio State)
Durability concerns were the biggest question marks surrounding Henderson during his first couple of seasons. Athletically, there are very few questions. There is a good chance that Henderson could turn some heads during the testing, as well as the running back drills. There’s a reality where he ends up being the second running back selected in this class.
RB Omarion Hampton (UNC)
Hampton is a big bruising running back, but just how dynamic is he? Seeing Hampton and his ability to catch the football would be ideal for evaluators. If he’s able to test well all around, he could cement his place among the top 64 selections. He had a lot on the line in general down in Indianapolis.
WR Tetairoa McMillan (Arizona)
Most people like McMillan, but there is a variance of opinions out there on him. The people that are lower typically get hung up on his overall athleticism. The Arizona standout dazzles with his frame and catch radius, but also struggles to consistently create separation. On the next level, windows get tighter and defenders get more athletic. Showing that he has some untapped upside athletically could go a long way.
WR Tez Johnson (Oregon)
Being 156 pounds is not ideal to play on the NFL level. Johnson unfortunately is in some dangerous territory now, and will need to test well in order for teams to value him highly. If Johnson doesn’t test like many believe, question marks around his physical profile will persist. Indianapolis is a big notch in this interview process.
