Dontay Corleone career statistics

Pros:

  • Power profile
Corleone is incredibly powerful, possessing a strong base while playing with natural leverage. He is incredibly difficult to uproot in the run game.
  • Lateral quickness
When you see Corleone, you would assume that he might be a labored athlete. Then you see him move laterally, and that changes your assumption. He is a brisk mover for as dense as he is.
  • Relentlessness
Playing with a relentless motor, Corleone makes some surprising plays in pursuit. He plays at 100 miles per hour on every snap. That makes for a ton of hustle plays on outside runs, screens, and on quarterback scrambles.

Cons:

  • No length
Corleone has some vicious hand strength, but has trouble at times leveraging at the point of attack. He just doesn’t have much length to play consistently outside of his frame.
  • Passing game limitations
There are times where Corleone can push the pocket and be disruptive in the passing game, but it won’t be on a consistent level. His lack of range and length limit him from finishing at the quarterback at a high volume.
  • Ability to finish
As mentioned, the lack of length and range limits Corleone from finishing plays at times. The box score won’t always indicate just how good he is.

Player Evaluation:

Corleone is easily one of the more underrated defensive tackles in the 2025 NFL Draft class. Densely built at 320 pounds, he is incredibly difficult to uproot in the run game. Corleone should be a massive asset on early downs at the very least.

There are some limitations against the pass, which might cause Corleone to tumble down the board a bit. If utilized properly, he still has starter upside on the next level, and should be a good one.

Player Comparison:

Alim McNeil (Detroit Lions)
Round mass of mayhem in the middle of a defense, who specializes in the running game. Occasional flash as a pass rusher, although that part of his game is limited.
