Pros of Devin Moore

  • Rangy athlete. Super long and tall for a corner. Actively uses that to his advantage at the catch point and at the line of scrimmage.
  • Notable ball tracking. Can play the ball like a WR and make plays before the pass catcher does.
  • Willing in run support. Routinely sheds blocks and makes tackles on the ball carrier.

Cons of Devin Moore

  • Extensive injury history. A senior who didn’t play a whole season until his final year in college.
  • Long speed. 4.5 in the 40 with long strides that can struggle to keep up vertically.
  • A step slow in his downhill transitions. Feet get stuck in mud occasionally when coming out of his pedal.

Background

A former four-star recruit out of Naples, Florida, Moore choose the Gators over Florida, Alabama, Notre Dame, Auburn, LSU, among others. He finished his career at Florida as a SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll member four times. Started 17 career games at Florida.

Player Evaluation

Moore is one of those players who is who he is. If you’re looking for someone who can play a variety of roles or mirror any skillset at WR, he’s not your guy. However, if you want a rangy, physical corner that you can deploy with safeties over the top, he’s your man. A physical presence throughout the field, Moore is a big, sturdy corner that will disrupt route timing at the line of scrimmage, come down and make plays against the run, and track the ball like a wide receiever.
