The NFL Combine Invites list was released today, which means NFL Draft season has now begun. Every year, NFL.com's draft expert Lance Zierlein releases his prospect player grades ahead of the NFL Combine, giving fans a great starting point in assessing who might be this year's top NFL Draft prospects.
However, when looking at this first release of player grades one thing in particular stood out. Marvin Harrison Jr. was not his highest rated wide receiver (as you can see in the image below).

Zierlein and NFL.com have LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers graded just 0.01 point higher than the son of Hall Fame wide receiver, Marvin Harrison.
Also interesting to note that LSU's Jayden Daniels is rated higher than North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye.
Both assertions would have been considered laughable just a mere six months ago, but after Daniels and Nabers connected on 89 passes for 1569 yards and 14 scores last fall it seems they both could be top six picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.
A to Z Sports' Destin Adams and myself both selected Daniels and Nabers inside the first six picks in recent mock drafts, and that's quickly becoming commonplace among NFL media members.
The most shocking thing about Zierlein's ranks isn't that Daniels and Nabers are rated highly though. It's that Marvin Harrison Jr. isn't considered the WR1. Harrison has been a consensus top five overall draft pick for well over a year now, considered by many to be a "generational" prospect.
It will be interesting to see if NFL.com changes their prospect player grades ahead of the 2024 NFL Combine as this particular ranking is sure to ruffle some feathers.
