We are just a couple of months until the 2025 NFL Draft officially gets underway. The offensive line class is an especially interesting conversation, possessing a nice amount of depth but a long list of question marks as well. When of the most divisive players in that group is former LSU All-American Will Campbell.
There has been, and will continue to be, a heavy debate about whether Campbell can stick at offensive tackle or if he should move inside to guard. Most people agree that Campbell is a strong overall prospect, but the positional conversation will continue to be had until we get to late April. While those debates are had, Campbell was attempting to impress NFL evaluators at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine.
The former LSU star had arguably the most impressive interview of any offensive lineman available for the media on Saturday. He took the media off guard when he was asked about what particular running scheme that fits him best. That curveball led to some laughter in the crowd.
“I like scoring touchdowns,” Campbell said. “So whatever that is, whatever we are best at, is what I like to do.”
As a football guy, you can't help but love the perspective from Campbell. The best part of his game is built off of physicality and nuance. He does strike you as a player who can excel at several different running schemes, and be a tremendous asset immediately.
The bigger question mark about Campbell comes in the passing game. While he was able to do a great job in college, the length and upside are still pretty questionable. Playing outside of his frame can be an issue. Campbell does bring the personality, demeanor, and selflessness, however, to continue to impress.
