The 2024 NFL Scouting Combine was one for the history books.

The highlight of the week in Indianapolis is watching the top prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft take hold of the NFL spotlight and seeing what each does in that moment. A close second, though, is experiencing the unique opportunity of having so many NFL team representatives and insiders in one city simultaneously.

As a result, a ton of information is shared as the 2024 NFL Draft begins to take shape. And the job of everyone in Indianapolis is to comb through it all and decide what is smoke and what is real info.

With that week coming to a close, I've begun doing just that and comb through the information I gathered. So, what better way to share my thoughts than a new mock draft? My largest yet of the cycle, a three-round mock draft where I share my thoughts on how I think each team will operate in the 2024 NFL Draft.

3 Round 2024 NFL Mock Draft:

Round 1:

1. Chicago Bears via Carolina Panthers
Caleb Williams, QB, USC

Everyone I spoke to at the combine confirmed what I had been hearing all offseason long: the Bears are expected to keep the number one pick and draft USC QB Caleb Williams. William's unique approach at the combine may have rubbed fans online the wrong way, but I was told that it hasn't affected how he stands with the Bears.

2. Washington Commanders
Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina

Like the Bears, the Commanders' interest in taking a QB is one of the worst-kept secrets around the NFL. Whether that QB ends up being North Carolina's Drake Maye or LSU's Jayden Daniels is harder to predict than the first pick. But in the end, I view Maye and Williams as the clear top two QBs in this class, and I have a hard time seeing the Commanders passing on him.

3. New England Patriots
Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU

With Maye and Williams off the board, penciling in LSU QB Jayden Daniels was an easy choice for me. The Mac Jones tenure has not worked out for the Patriots, and adding the reigning Heisman winner is quite the start to the post-Bill Belichick Patriots era.

4. Arizona Cardinals
Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State

I know there are rumblings around the NFL about QBs going 1-2-3-4 to start the draft, but I have a hard time seeing the Cardinals passing on a player of Marvin Harrison Jr.'s caliber without having to trade a single pick to do so. If he's on the board for them at four, I have a feeling it won't take them very long to turn the card in with his name on it.

5. Los Angeles Chargers
Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame

Pick five, to me, is when the draft really begins, In my opinion. There are multiple directions the Chargers could go. The top options I heard mentioned last week were WR, OT, and Brock Bowers. I honestly don't think they can go wrong with any of those options, but with their new offensive staff expected to begin building the foundation of their run game, I think adding a blue-chip offensive tackle to form one of the best young tackle duos in football with Notre Dame's Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater is the route I'd go.

6. New York Giants
Malik Nabers, WR, LSU

The Giants are having severe buyer remorse with the huge contract they gave Daniel Jones last offseason. It seems they are already looking for an upgrade at QB. But with the dead cap numbers on Jones' deal not going to make it easy for them to release the QB, they have no choice but to build an offense that can succeed with him in the present. Adding one of the top WR prospects in this draft here is a great start, and LSU's Malik Nabers ability to make plays after the catch is an area I think they would prioritize.

7. Tennessee Titans
Rome Odunze, WR, Washington

The Titans have massive needs at both WR and OT that they will seriously consider with this pick. New head coach Brian Callahan made a comment at the combine last week, though, that I think points towards a WR. "When all things are equal, guys that can score touchdowns tend to make more of an impact." Washington WR Rome Odunze was one of the best WRs in contested situations in college last season. I think that style of WR is just what the doctor ordered for a QB like Will Levis.

TRADE: Falcons send pick 8 to the Seahawks for pick 16, pick 78 (2024 3rd), 2025 2nd rounder, and a 2026 3rd rounder

8. Seattle Seahawks via Atlanta Falcons
J.J. McCarthy, QB, Michigan

The talk of the combine was which team would land Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy, whose draft stock is at an all-time high. I think it's highly likely that whoever lands McCarthy will come from a trade-up. The Seahawks are a team that I was told was "highly motivated" to land one of the top QBs last year, and they again are doing significant research on the QBs in this year's class. After missing out last year by standing pat at five, I think they could have even more motivation to pull off an aggressive trade.

9. Chicago Bears
Dallas Turner, Edge, Alabama

The Bears would have loved one of the top WRs, but with all three off the board, I think adding the best defensive player in the draft, and in my opinion, that's Alabama edge rusher Dallas Turner, to pair with Montez Sweat is their best option.

10. New York Jets
Olumuyiwa Fashanu, OT, Penn State

It's no secret how badly the Jets need to improve their offensive line this offseason. Luckily for them, one of the top prospects fell in their lap here in Penn State's Olumuyiwa Fashanu. With Aaron Rodgers expected to back from injury next season, adding arguably the best overall pass blocker in this year's class is a perfect fit.

11. Minnesota Vikings
Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama

The most impressive player when it came to their podium interviews last week to me was Alabama CB Terrion Arnold. He commanded the room, and I was told many teams had a similar experience during their private interviews with the talented CB. His college tape already had him considered to be the top CB in the draft, and I think his impressive interviews last week might have locked it up.

12. Denver Broncos
Jared Verse, Edge, Florida State

The Broncos officially released Russell Wilson and have a lot of choices to make on the direction of their football team. Of course, they have to make a move at QB, but with the top four off the board, I have them adding a talented pass rusher in Florida State's Jared Verse.

13. Las Vegas Raiders
Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State

Similar to the Broncos, the Raiders have a lot of roster decisions to make for the direction they are heading in, and they, too, would have been a good fit for a QB. But with that not being a possibility here, I think they would add a veteran QB, and adding offensive line help would be wise. Oregon State's Taliese Fuaga is my best available.

14. New Orleans Saints
Brock Bowers, TE, Georiga

Brock Bowers doesn't need much of an introduction; he is one of the most anticipated TE prospects of recent memory at the NFL level. Any team that doesn't have an elite TE on their roster already will likely consider him, and with the Saints missing out on a top WR here, landing Bowers should soften that blow.

TRADE: Colts send pick 15 and 193 (2024 6th rounder) to the Eagles for pick 22, pick 50 (2024 2nd rounder via Saints), 2025 3rd rounder

15. Philadelphia Eagles via Indianapolis Colts
Jackson Powers-Johnson, C, Oregon

The Eagles lost a staple on their roster with the news of Jason Kelce retiring. And GM Howie Roseman has shown he is willing to be aggressive to fill holes as they present themself. Oregon's Jackson Powers-Johnson is the clear best center prospect in this class, and instead of waiting to see if he makes it to them at pick 22, they use their extra picks in the next two drafts to grab Kelce's successor.

16. Atlanta Falcons via Seattle Seahawks
Laiatu Latu, Edge, UCLA

After moving back and picking up extra draft capital, the Falcons still land one of the draft's best edge rusher prospects in UCLA Laiatu Latu. Latu showed how dominant of a pass rusher he could be against just about any offensive lineman assigned to him at the Senior Bowl, and the Falcons could use that type of production.

17. Jacksonville Jaguars
Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo

The Jaguars would be a team to watch for Powers-Johnson, but with the Eagles jumping them here, they instead go after Toledo CB Quinyon Mitchell. Mitchell has had an impressive draft cycle and would be a day-one starter for the Jaguars, who now have some young QBs to worry about in their division.

18. Cincinnati Bengals
Amarius Mims, OT, Georiga

A year ago, mock drafts had Amarius Mims out of Georiga as a top-five to ten pick. His injury this past year has hurt his stock, but his skill and physical profile should be enough for him to still be one of the best tackles in this year's class. The Bengals could be the benefactor of Mims falling down boards, and it could land them a top-tier starting tackle to protect Joe Burrow going forward.

19. Los Angeles Rams
Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson

The Rams have multiple directions they could go here, but the best player available to me was Clemson CB Nate Wiggins. Wiggins' smaller build will be an issue for many teams, but his unreal athleticism and skill warrant being selected this high. He offers a solid balance of upside while also projecting to be a day-one contributor.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers
Troy Fautanu, OT/G, Washington

No matter who the QB is for the Steelers next year, they have to do a better job protecting them. Washington's Troy Fautanu is a unique prospect who could play day one as either a tackle or a guard. He would allow the Steelers some flexibility heading into training camp.

21. Miami Dolphins
JC Latham, OT, Alabama

When healthy, the offensive line for the Dolphins played well. But too many injuries led to inconsistent play across the line, and it hurt their high-powered offense down the stretch. Alabam's JC Latham can start at RT on day one and do it at a high level. He would raise the floor and ceiling fo their run game which will only open up more opportunities for their dynamic passing game.

22. Indianapolis Colts
Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU

With multiple potential targets on the board, I think Chris Ballard and the Colts could look to add extra day two picks in this talented class. After striking a deal with the Eagles, I have the Colts taking LSU WR Brian Thomas Jr., a player I think they would strongly consider at 15.

23. Houston Texans via Cleveland Browns
Byron Murphy II, DT, Texas

If I had to pick the player that fits DeMeco Ryan's defense, the best in this class is Texas DT Byron Murphy II. After a great week at the Scouting Combine, he may not make it to their pick here, but if enough premium positions come off the board, I think it's still possible.

24. Dallas Cowboys
Jer'Zhan "Johnny" Newton, DT, Illinois

The Cowboys just drafted a DT in the first round with Mazi Smith, but after a lackluster rookie season, I don't think they should pass up on a day-one impactful player like Jer'Zhan Newton out of Illinois. Newton would be a dynamic pass rusher on the inside to open up more opportunities for Micah Parson's on the edge.

25. Green Bay Packers
Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma

The Packers seem to have hit gold once again at QB, with Jordan Love breaking onto the scene last season. Now, building around him becomes the goal, and with LT David Bakhiari's future being in question, I have them grabbing Oklahoma OT Tyler Guyton. Guyton can play opposite of Bakhiari in the short term and could very well develop into his successor at LT.

26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Cooper DeJean, CB, Iowa

Before re-signing Mike Evans, I thought WR could be an option for the Buccaneers at 26. With him back in the fold, I have them going a different direction and grabbing the versatile defensive back out of Iowa Cooper DeJean. The Buccaneers could use help at CB and safety, so DeJean's unique skill set to play both should come in handy.

27. Arizona Cardinals via Houston Texans
Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama

After adding to their own passing game with Marvin Harrison Jr., I have them adding to their pass defense with CB Kool-Aid McKinstry out of Alabama. McKinstry, at one point, was viewed as the top CB in this class, and while other players passed him due to their ceilings, his high floor should help a team immediately.

28. Buffalo Bills
Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas

The big winner of this year's Scouting Combine, Xavier Worthy, had a lot of buzz around the NFL scene prior to him breaking the 40-yard dash record. Many viewed him as a potential first-round pick before he took the field at the combine, but his impressive showing should go a long way in making that a reality. Giving Josh Allen a dynamic weapon like Worthy could be just what the Bills need to get over the hump they've struggled with over the last few years.

29. Detroit Lions
Darius Robinson, Edge/DT, Missouri

Darius Robinson is a versatile defensive lineman who can line up on the edge or on the interior. Many people that I" be spoke too think his best role is as a three-tech, and the Lions could use a real impact player on the inside in both the run and passing game.

30. Baltimore Ravens
Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas

One of the big winners from this year's Scouting Combine was Texas WR Adonai Mithcell. His unique size and speed combo would be perfect for the Ravens to pair with Zay Flowers to form a dynamic duo for reigning MVP Lamar Jackson.

31. San Francisco 49ers
Graham Barton, OT/G, Duke

Graham Barton is a versatile offensive lineman who has spent time at both tackle and guard. Barton would give the 49ers a starter heading into training camp but would also allow them more flexibility in case injuries arise on the offensive line as they look to make another trip to the Super Bowl.

32. Kansas City ChiefsTroy Franklin, WR, Oregon

The Chiefs need impact players at WR. Rashee Rice came on late in the season, but outside of him and Travis Kelce, they don't have a single reliable receiving option. There are multiple talented options to consider here, and I went with Oregon's Troy Franklin. Franklin can play inside or outside, and his speed will allow him to stretch the field and offer Patrick Mahomes a deep threat.

Round 2:

33. Carolina Panthers
Ladd McConkey, WR, Georgia

I was told that Ladd McConkey could have very well played himself into consideration to be a first-round pick at the Senior Bowl and at the Scouting Combine. But if he gets out of the first round, I was told especially to watch the Panthers at 33 as a team that could target McConkey.

34. New England Patriots
Jordan Morgan, OT, Arizona

TRADE: Cardinals send pick 35 to the Falcons for pick 43 (2023 2nd), pick 78 (2023 3rd via Seahawks), 2025 4th round pick

35. Atlanta Falcons via Arizona Cardinals
Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington

After trading back in the first round, the Falcons use some of those picks to make a small trade up here to land Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. I think the Falcons will look at the veteran QB market, but Penix Jr. could play right away if needed and give them a young QB to develop under their new coaching staff.

36. Washington Commanders
Chop Robinson, Edge, Penn State

37. Los Angeles Chargers
Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State

38. Tennessee Titans
Patrick Paul, OT, Houston

39. New York Giants
Cooper BeeBee, G, Kansas State

40. Washington Commanders via Chicago Bears
Devontez Walker, WR, North Carolina

41. Green Bay Packers via New York Jets
Ennis Rakestraw Jr., CB, Missouri

42. Minnesota Vikings
Chris Braswell, Edge, Alabama

43. Arizona Cardinals via Atlanta Falcons
Kingsley Suamataia, OT/G, BYU

44. Las Vegas Raiders
TJ Tampa, CB, Iowa State

45. New Orleans Saints via Denver Broncos
Bo Nix, QB, Oregon

46. Indianapolis Colts
Tyler Nubin, S, Minnesota

47. New York Giants via Seattle Seahawks
Cam Hart, CB, Notre Dame

48. Jacksonville Jaguars
Xavier Legette, WR, South Carolina

49. Cincinnati Bengals
T'Vondre Sweat, DT, Texas

50. Indianapolis Colts via Eagles/Saints
Payton Wilson, LB, NC State

51. Los Angeles Rams
Kiran Amegadjie, OT, Yale

52. Pittsburgh Steelers
Zach Frazier, C, West Virginia

53. Miami Dolphins
Ruke Orhorhoro, DT, Clemson

54. Philadelphia Eagles
Junior Colson, LB, Michigan

55. Cleveland Browns
Braden Fiske, DT, Florida State

56. Dallas Cowboys
Edgerrin Cooper, LB, Texas A&M

57. Green Bay Packers
Jaden Hicks, S, Washington State

TRADE: Buccaneers send pick 58 to the Bears for QB Justin Fields

One of the biggest storylines surrounding the Scouting Combine was which team would land Justin Fields and what the price would be. Earlier this offseason, many believed the Bears could get additional picks on top of a second for Fields. But nearly everyone at the combine believed at this point a single second-round pick was the most likely return. Many teams were mentioned, but one that I found interesting was the Buccaneers. They have a decision to make on Baker Mayfield, and while they could hand him a lucrative deal, I think making a trade for Fields gives them a better outlook in both the present and the future. Both on the field and on their salary books.

58. Chicago Bears Via Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Ja'Lynn Polk, WR, Washington

59. Houston Texans
Roman Wilson, WR, Michigan

60. Buffalo Bills
Kamren Kinchens, S, Miami

61. Detroit Lions
Kris Jenkins, DT, Michigan

62. Baltimore Ravens
Kris Abrams-Draine, CB, Missouri

63. San Francisco 49ers
Mike Sainristil, CB, Michigan

64. Kansas City Chiefs
Kamari Lassiter, CB, Georiga

3rd Round

65. Carolina Panthers
Ja'Tavion Sanders, TE, Texas

66. Arizona Cardinals
Jeremiah Trotter Jr., LB, Clemson

Jermaine Burton, WR, Alabama

69. Los Angeles Chargers
Jonathon Brooks, RB, Texas
