The 2025 NFL Combine is a wrap and the running back group showed off their ridiculous athleticism more than perhaps any other position. It was clear coming into this spring that the running back group was stacked with talent, but for most of the entire group to dominate the NFL Combine was great to see.
We didn't get to see testing from Ashton Jeanty, the presumed RB1. A few other early round talents sat out for most of the drills too. However, the good news is that a dozen different running backs posted 80th percentile A to Z Sports Athletic Composite Scores or better!
Let's take a dive into all the top NFL Combine winners among the running backs in the 2025 NFL Draft class.
Quinshon Judkins, RB Ohio State
Quinshon Judkins has been an obvious early round selection since he stepped onto the football field for Ole Miss as a true freshman. He posted back to back to back 1200+ yard seasons in college, showcasing consistent vision, contact balance, and value as a receiving option. He's a true feature back prospect.
Now that he's tested as the most complete athlete at the NFL Combine among all running backs with a 96th percentile A to Z Sports Athletic Composite there's no way he drops outside the Top 75 picks. He might rise as high as early round two.
Raheim Sanders, RB South Carolina
It should not be surprising at all to see Rocket Sanders test as an elite athlete. Back in 2022 he was an assumed early-round running back prospect after putting up 1700 yards from scrimmage against SEC competition. Unfortunately he fought through injuries for much of 2023, then was still not quite back to normal for much of 2024.
His 90th percentile athletic profile featuring a 4.47-second forty-yard dash and a nice vertical jump at 217 pounds should have NFL teams reconsidering letting him drop into the later rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft now.
TreVeyon Henderson, RB Ohio State
Since TreVeyon Henderson put up one of the best true freshman running back seasons ever back in 2021 he's been considered a top tier NFL Draft talent. He averaged nearly seven yards per touch throughout his career thanks to his balance of explosion in the run game and efficiency as a receiving back.
His 4.43-second forty-yard dash and impressive jumps gave him an 88th percentile A to Z Sports Athletic Composite Score. There was already rising sentiment that he could be a second round pick, and that buzz definitely won't stop after the NFL Combine.
Bhayshul Tuten, RB Virginia Tech
It's one thing to look explosive on film as a compactly-framed smaller running back. It's another thing entirely to show up and post 97th and 98th percentile speed and burst scores at the NFL Combine. Tuten's 4.32-second forty-yard dash was the best among the running back group. His 40.5-inch vert was best as well.
Unfortunately his agility times killed his otherwise impressive athletic profile, but he definitely helped his draft stock significantly overall. Tuten was a fringe undrafted free agent talent for many in the league prior to the NFL Combine. Not anymore.

Donovan Edwards, RB Michigan
Donovan Edwards struggled with consistency in his time with Michigan, being outproduced by teammates for much of his career, but he showed off the athletic ability that made him a five star talent coming into college. His 4.45-second forty yard dash was 83rd percentile for running backs. His vertical was 90th percentile. He's almost certainly considered a decent day three draft pick now.
Honorable Mentions
DJ Giddens (Kansas State), RJ Harvey (UCF), Damien Martinez (Miami), Montrell Johnson Jr. (Florida), Jaydon Blue (Texas), and Omarion Hampton (North Carolina) all posted Athletic Composite Scores above the 80th percentile at the NFL Combine too. Giddens and Martinez might push their way into round three now following their strong performances. Omarion Hampton might not be a first round pick, but as a potential RB2 in the class, likely solidified his second round status.
