One of the most intriguing prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft class has had a quiet draft cycle to date, but that's about to change.

With the news that Iowa DB Cooper DeJean has been cleared to return to all football activities.

Before the draft cycle began, many were excited to see DeJean work out at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. However, he wasn't able to take the field because he was nursing his broken fibula injury that he suffered in November. Now that he has been cleared, he plans to hold a private workout for some of the top decision-makers for all 32 NFL teams on April 8th at Iowa.

The biggest talking point around DeJean has been about which position he will play at the next level. Some view him as a corner, but others believe he is a safety at the pro level. But no one who's watched his tape has any doubts that he possesses elite athleticism, and now he will be able to show it off.

On top of being one of the top defensive backs in this class, DeJean also offers high upside as a returner. And with the NFL's new kickoff system being passed, many believe teams will be more aggressive to land a difference maker in the return game. During mock drafts this offseason, DeJean has gone anywhere from the middle of the first round to the middle of the second. But I have a hunch that after teams see him up close on April 8th, he will cement himself as a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
