History was officially made at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine.

With Xavier Worthy out of the University of Texas running the fastest 40-yard dash in the history of the NFL Scouting Combine in 4.21 seconds.

John Ross III set the previous record out of the University of Washington in 2017 when he ran a 4.22 40-yard dash.

Worthy's first run would have been the fastest of any player at this year's combine at 4.25. But that wasn't good enough for him as he followed it up with the record-breaking 4.21. Coming into the Scouting Combine, Worthy was seen as a fringe round-one WR, with most mock drafts having him hear his name in round two.

After this impressive performance at the Scouting Combine, I think it's fair to say teams in the second half of the first round will have to seriously consider adding the shifty speedster to their WR room come the 2024 NFL Draft.
