The 2024 NFL Draft is less than a month away, and there is more smoke than ever to sift through as all 32 teams begin finalizing their draft boards.

While they do that, I decided it was time for one last mock draft before we kissed March goodbye.

Below is how I currently see the first two rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft playing out if it occurred today.

1st Round:

1. Chicago Bears via Carolina Panthers
Caleb Williams, QB, USC

This pick has been written in sharpie for a while now, but the Bears finalizing the trade to send Justin Fields to Pittsburgh made it known to the rest of the NFL that they are taking a QB here. While there are multiple intriguing options, it seems obvious that Caleb Williams has the full attention of Chicago.

2. Washington Commanders
Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina

There is more smoke than ever around who the Commanders will select at two. The favorite seems to be LSU's Jayden Daniels, but North Carolina's Drake Maye and even Michigan's J.J. McCarthy all appear on the table. I think Maye is the best option for the Commanders, so until there's concrete evidence that says otherwise, I'm going to have them take Maye.

3. New England Patriots
Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU

If I had to choose between Washington or New England to trade out, I think New England would be more likely to do so. But personally, I have a hard time seeing either QB-needy team push this decision down the road with the current outlook of next year's QB being lower than ever. So, while I believe both will listen to offers, I think the smartest thing to do is stand pat and draft one of the QBs in this impressive group. With Williams and Maye off the board, my clear third-best QB is Jayden Daniels, so I have the Patriots adding the reigning Heisman winner.

4. Arizona Cardinals
Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State

When it comes to Arizona, I'll believe it when I see it that they would pass on a player like Marvin Harrison Jr. to trade back. With them losing Hollywood Brown to the Chiefs this offseason, they desperately need a new top weapon for QB Kyler Murray, and the NFL has been anxiously awaiting Harrison Jr.'s arrival for quite some time.

Trade: Vikings send picks 11, 23, and 2025 1st to the Chargers for pick 5

5. Minnesota Vikings via Los Angeles Chargers
J.J. McCarthy, QB, Michigan

It seems like the NFL's worst-kept secret at this point is that the Vikings are interested in trading up for a QB. I'm sure they would love to convince one of the top three teams into a trade to make sure they get one of their top guys in this class, but with the top three off the board already at five, their choice is here is pretty simple. J.J. McCarthy out of Michigan has had quite the draft cycle to date. At one point, I thought he was a fringe first-round pick, but now I'd be shocked if he makes it out of the top ten.

6. New York Giants
Malik Nabers, WR, LSU

The Giants are another team linked to the QBs in this draft class, and I completely understand their desire to kick the tires there. Daniel Jones' massive contract isn't getting any better, but if the top four QBs are off the board by their pick here, they don't have much of a choice but to stick with Jones for at least another year. There are multiple ways they could go here, but in the end, I think LSU WR Malik Nabers is the best WR for the Giants if they want to get the most out of Jones while he remains their starting QB.

7. Tennessee Titans
Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame

Like most people, I have been between OT and WR for the Titans here, pretty much all draft cycle. But with them connecting on their big free agent swing by signing WR Calvin Ridley seems to open the door for the Titans to take Notre Dame's Joe Alt to solidify the left side of their offensive line with last year's first-round pick Peter Skoronski.

8. Atlanta Falcons
Dallas Turner, Edge, Alabama

The Falcons have been busy in free agency with their big move to land Kirk Cousins as their new starting QB. And I also really liked the signing of Darnell Mooney to pair with Drake London at WR. I think WR is still very much an option for them to consider here, but in the end, I think they decide to take the first defensive player off the board here in Alabama's Dallas Turner to fit the Falcon's clear pass rush need.

9. Chicago Bears
Byron Murphy II, IDL, Texas

I think the Bears would love for one of the top four QBs to remain on the board here so they can facilitate a trade out of this pick. One reason is that there are multiple different approaches they could take with this pick. They could go edge, WR, TE, maybe even OL. I went a different route here, though, by selecting Texas DT Byron Murphy II. The impact of a true difference maker on the interior of the defensive line in head coach Matt Eberflus' defense shouldn't be overlooked here. While some may consider it a reach, I think Murphy II could be a perfect fit for the Bears here.

10. New York Jets
Brock Bowers, TE, Georiga

This might be the first time I haven't taken an OT for the Jets with this pick. But after their signing of LT Tyron Smith, I think it opens up some other possibilities. I considered both TE Brock Bowers and WR Rome Odunze with this pick. But the idea of giving Aaron Rodgers a TE of Bowers' caliber sounds like a match made in heaven.

11. Los Angeles Chargers via Minnesota Vikings
Rome Odunze, WR, Washington

After pulling the trigger on a trade back, I have the Chargers hitting the jackpot by landing Washington WR Rome Odunze. I think Odunze is an incredible talent, one that the Chargers likely consider if they stay at five even. With them moving off of both Keenan Allen and Mike Williams this offseason, they have a glaring need at WR going forward. And while this class is deep and could cause others to pass on WR early, I think the Chargers would be wise to land one of the blue-chip prospects at the position here in Odunze.

12. Denver Broncos
Jared Verse, Edge, Florida State

I think the Broncos are a team that is exploring its options for a possible trade-up. But in the end, I don't think they have the ammunition needed to outbid a team like the Vikings, who seem poised to make an aggressive move. While the Broncos could look at QBs at 12, I think that would be a mistake with the top four of the board. So, instead, I have them attacking a different need in edge rusher Jared Verse.

13. Las Vegas Raiders
Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo

Like the Broncos, I think the Raiders are another team that likely has a serious interest in trading up for a QB. But if they fail to do so, I think they have to look elsewhere at 13 because the talent remaining at QB does not warrant being selected this high. The Raiders need impact players in the secondary, and while I think Terrion Arnold out of Alabama is the top CB in this class, I think Toledo's Quinyon Mitchell will be viewed as a higher upside option, and I think I could catch new Raiders GM Tom Telesco's eye.

14. New Orleans Saints
Olumuyiwa Fashanu, OT, Penn State

The Saints are another team that could go in a lot of different directions with this pick. I considered WR, and DL here as well before landing on Penn State's Olumuyiwa Fashanu. Fashanu's health has caused him to fall down many people's boards during the draft cycle, but his production shouldn't be ignored. On tape, he is the clear best pass blocker in this stacked OT class. And while the Saints need to figure out their long-term QB in the coming years, I think Fashanu can be a staple for their offense for years to come.

15. Indianapolis Colts
Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU

The Colts choosing not to make a move to improve their secondary so far this offseason makes me seriously consider drafting a CB with this pick. But I can't shake how perfect of a fit LSU WR Brian Thomas Jr. is for both Shane Steichen's offense and what Chris Ballard values at the position. I think Thomas Jr. can slide into the Colts' starting Z WR spot on day one, and I think he offers them the flexibility to fill the X role when needed to move Michael Pittman Jr. around the field as needed.

Trade: Eagles send picks 22 and 53 to the Seahawks for picks 16 and 81

16. Philadelphia Eagles via Seattle Seahawks
Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama

If Howie Roseman and the Eagles covet a player, they have not been shy to trade up. And with multiple top 100 picks at their disposal, I think a trade up here to land who I believe to be the top CB in this year's class in Alabama's Terrion Arnold would make a lot of sense for the Eagles, who are in need of young talent in the secondary to play alongside the veterans they have in the room.

17. Jacksonville Jaguars
Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas

The Jaguars losing Calvin Ridley to the Titans was one of the biggest shocks of the offseason, in my opinion. And while they landed Gabe Davis as WR, they still need a big-body WR to man the outside. Texas' Adonai Mitchell showed off at the Scouting Combine his superb athleticism to pair with the skill set that he displayed on film. The big concern for Mitchell is the lack of production in college you typically like to see from a first-round pick. But Jaguars GM Trent Baalke has shown time and time again that he's willing to draft a player for what he believes he can become over who he thinks they are right now.

18. Cincinnati Bengals
Jer'Zhan Newton, DT, Illinois

The Bengals lost star DT DJ Reader to the Lions in free agency. While they did land veteran Sheldon Rankins, I love the fit of Illinois DT Jer'Zhan Newton in the Bengals' defense. I think he can play beside Rankins for the short term and has the upside to develop into the next star DT following Cincinnati's recent stretch of strong play on the interior of their defensive line.

Trade: Chargers send picks 23, 105, and 181 to the Rams for pick 19

19. Los Angeles Chargers via Los Angeles Rams
Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State

The Chargers pull off another trade here after trading back from five they get aggressive here and trade up from 23 after seeing one of the top OT's in this year's class slip down the draft board a bit with Oregon State's Taliese Fuaga still being available at pick 19. Fuaga has upside at both tackle and guard at the next level, which offers the Chargers some flexibility when building out the rest of their roster. And I think he would raise the floor of this offense at either spot, which warrants this trade-up.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers
Jackson Powers-Johnson, C, Oregon

If the Chargers didn't jump them here, I think Fuaga would also be a great fit with the Steelers. But with him off the board, I think the new-look Steelers need a reliable center on their offensive line for both Russel Wilson and Justin Fields. Oregon's Jackson Powers-Johnson is the top center in this class. And while there are a couple of other options they could consider at the position on day two, Powers-Johnson gives them the best shot at getting high-level play out of a rookie at the position next year, and I think they'd pull the trigger on him here.

21. Miami Dolphins
Troy Fautanu, OT/G, Washington

The Dolphins have multiple needs on their offensive line. So, a player like Troy Fautanu from Washington makes a ton of sense. He projects as both an OT and a G. The Dolphins seem to be getting starting LT Terron Armstead back next year, which wouldn't force Fautanu to be the team's starting LT next year, but he can start elsewhere on the line for the time being but also gives the team a high upside option to develop into their future starting LT.

22. Seattle Seahawks
Laiatu Latu, Edge, UCLA

I think the Seahawks could seriously consider drafting an edge rusher at pick 16, but Laiatu Latu's medical concerns could cause them to hesitate. So, a trade back before drafting him could make a lot of sense. So now I have them landing Latu and turning a third-rounder into a second with their trade with the Eagles, which will allow them to land another top prospect in the second.

23. Los Angeles Rams via Los Angeles Chargers
Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson

After a small trade back, the Rams selected Clemson CB Nate Wiggins. Wiggins' athletic ability and skill is undeniable, but his below-average size concerns will deter multiple teams. The Rams, though, have shown that they are willing to draft size outliers if the skill warrants it, and it's worked out for them multiple times over. So I think the talent Wiggins possesses would be enough for them to pull the trigger after the small trade back from 19.

24. Dallas Cowboys
Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia

It's been a quiet offseason for the Cowboys, who have lost multiple starters. But their loss of Tyron Smith to the Jets is a big one. The Cowboys watched multiple top OTs go ahead of them in this mock, but luckily for them, this class stacked with talent. An intriguing option to me is Georiga OT Amarius Mims, who was seen as a top-10 pick before his injury last season. So he could turn out to be a massive steal for the Cowboys as they look for their next star, LT.

25. Green Bay Packers
Graham Barton, OT/G, Duke

The Packers' offensive line situation is interesting. They chose to release star OT David Bakhtiari and already had other question marks on their line. So, a player like Graham Barton out of Duke could be a wise choice for them to consider. Barton showed he can play tackle at a high level, but some believe he is a better fit at guard at the pro level. The Packers can allow him to compete at both spots in camp and figure out who their best five on the offensive line truly are.

26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Chop Robinson, Edge, Penn State

The Buccaneers again this offseason prioritized keeping their own free agents. But to do so, they had to release some impactful players. One of those being edge rusher Shaq Barrett. Which opens up a clear need off the edge. If any of the top three in this class fall here I think they run that card in. But with the top three all off the board here, I have the Buccaneers taking a shot at a high upside option in Penn State's Chop Robinson. Robinson is an athletic freak who many across the NFL believe his best football is clearly in front of him.

27. Arizona Cardinals via Houston Texans
Darius Robinson, Edge/DT, Missouri

The Cardinals already landed Harrison Jr., so the rest of this draft is icing on the cake. But I have them taking Missouri defensive lineman Darius Robinson. Robinson projects as an impact player both off the edge and on the interior. The Cardinals have needs at both, so a player like Robinson who can line up on all three downs and offer some flexibility in terms of deploying personnel would be a great fit.

28. Buffalo Bills
Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas

The Bills lost Gabe Davis to the Jaguars in free agency after he got offered more money than they were comfortable matching. So the Bills for sure need to walk out of the draft with a starting WR next to Stefon Diggs. The talk of the combine was Texas WR Xavier Worthy breaking the 40-yard dash record with his 4.21 run. Star QB Josh Allen would greatly welcome that type of speed and playmaker next to Diggs as the Bills attempt to get over the hump in the playoffs and compete for a Super Bowl.

29. Detroit Lions
Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama

The Lions have used free agency to attack multiple key positions, including CB. But I think they still could use an impactful starter option in the secondary. Kool-Aid McKinstry was once looked at as the top CB in this class. But many have begun to paint him as a high-floor, low-ceiling option. A high floor candidate at the position shouldn't scare the Lions away, though, in my opinion, and I think he has a higher ceiling than people give him credit for.

30. Baltimore Ravens
JC Latham, OT, Alabama

The Ravens added RB Derrick Henry to dual-threat QB Lamar Jackson to form one of the deadliest rushing duos in the entire NFL. And I think JC Latham out of Alabama is the best overall run blocker in this year's class who can play on either side of the line. The Ravens offense is going to be driven by the run game so why not add a player like Latham that raises the floor and ceiling of that area.

31. San Francisco 49ers
Jordan Morgan, OT, Arizona

Drafting for the 49ers is always interesting because what do you give the team that has everything? But the clear best option has been adding an impactful offensive lineman. And with how the board fell here, I like the fit of Arizona's Jordan Morgan. Morgan can play either side of the line, but day one can be the team's starting RT opposite of Trent Williams. While also having plenty of room to develop into Williams' future successor at LT.

32. Kansas City Chiefs
Ladd McConkey, WR, Georgia

This one may catch some flack due to some of the WRs also on the board for the Chiefs here but here me out. Georiga WR Ladd McConkey is one of the best route runners in this entire class. And while the Chiefs added Hollywood Brown this offseason too many of their WRs couldn't get open or haul in the ball when their numbers were called. You don't have to worry about that with McConkey, he will get open and he will be a reliable target for anyone at the pro level. But giving him an offensive mind like Andy Reid and a QB like Patrick Mahomes raises his ceiling as a player tremendously.

Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State

Troy Franklin, WR, Oregon
