Sports are all about incredible moments, and what a moment Ole Miss Rebels QB Trinidad Chambliss had on Thursday. He led Ole Miss to a win over the Georgia Bulldogs in the Sugar Bowl, and he did it in style. Chambliss put on a magical performance Ole Miss and College Football fans won’t forget.

His showing on the big stage has people wondering if his NFL Draft stock could be on the rise. Well, I’m sure he will get more attention in the NFL Draft space; the league has been watching him closely all season. For many scouts, Thursday wasn’t the awakening some think it was; instead, it was a confirmation of what they already believed.

NFL scouts have had a close eye on Trinidad Chambliss well before his magical performance in the Sugar Bowl

“Some may be scared to use a premium pick on Chambliss with him being at the D2 level so recently, but he’s my QB3; talent is off the charts.” This is the statement an AFC Scout shared with me on the Ole Miss signal caller. Here’s the thing. He told me this over a week before the Sugar Bowl.

Another AFC Scout thinks his stock was higher than many realized before Thursday’s performance, saying, “He’s not getting out of round two. Too much talent and everyone who’s been around him would go to war for the kid.”

Chambliss has been every NFL fan base’s favorite “Day 3 QB prospect” for the past couple of months. We’ll stop seeing him mocked in that range, but the reality is, he was never going to drop that far.

There are rumors Chambliss wants an extra year of collegiate eligibility. Another year like this one could help him make the jump into being a consensus first-round prospect when the 2027 NFL Draft rolls around.

A front office member in the NFC believes his performance in the Sugar Bowl could help him gain that type of stock now. “QB3 is wide open, and so many owners are pressuring their top decision makers to find a QB at any means necessary. After what I saw yesterday, put me down as someone who would prefer to bet my job on Chambliss than Simpson (Alabama QB Ty Simpson) or any other QB, other than Mendoza (Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza) and Moore (Oregon’s Dante Moore).”
