After likely top 5 picks, Jayden Daniels and Caleb Willims both announced they would be skipping the drills at the NFL Combine, some were left wondering if Drake Maye would follow in their footsteps.

Well, per Josina Anderson of CBS Sports, Maye will only participate in interviews and physical evaluations:

Why Sit Out?

If this seems like a growing trend among the top prospects, it's because it is. You see when you're projected to be a lock top 10, if not top-five pick in a draft, nothing you're going to do in shorts and a t-shirt is going to help you.

In fact, should you miss a few throws, run a little slower than some anticipated, or be a little quieter than people would like, now the nitpicking just gets worse and the fodder only grows.

So the move should come as no surprise, as I expect the trend to continue as the years go on.
