Tyler Guyton, RT, Oklahoma

Height/Weight: 6-8, 322

Age: 22

Strengths

  • Hands: Always active and confident in his ability to dissuade countermoves
  • Mirror: Fluid hips to move in space and adjust when reaching or climbing to the second level
  • Stunt Recognition: Sees games and stops them ahead of time
  • Athleticism: Smooth player who can react via his footwork and quickness as well as be used as a puller

Areas of Improvement-Concerns

  • Strike Zone: Misses his target too often. Needs to get aligned and drive into the defender
  • Anchor: Shows major issues when being asked to drop his weight and explode through a bull rush
  • Sustain: Has trouble holding onto blocks once engaged

Evaluation:

Tyler Guyton is an elite athlete who can play on both sides of the line thanks to his adept footwork, length, and ability to mirror pass rushers and second-level defenders. There are concerns about his long-term viability in the league as well as his usefulness against power rushers, but the latter can be adjusted with time in the weight room and maturity.
