Pros:

  • Route Running
Displays excellent ability to get in and out of breaks. Uncanny technique and nuance in his stems and breaks. Multi-faceted release pattern and game plan at the top of his route.
  • Hands
Can make both spectacular and contested catches in a phone booth. Strong mitts that don’t fight the ball.
  • Versatility
Proficient both from the slot and boundary, also has experience as a returner

Cons:

  • Deep Speed
A quicker than fast player that can’t stack DBs or blow by corners. Teams aren’t afraid to press him
  • YAC (Yards After Catch)
Elusive in short areas but seldom breaks tackles. Gets the yards that are there but seldom more
  • Balance
Oddly falls too often. Almost as if he has too much horsepower for the wheels.

Player Evaluation:

Pearsall is a detailed route runner that creates matchup nightmares from the slot. While he has the ability to win on the perimeter, teams with fast and physical corners will get up on him and render him useless.

Teams looking for a crafty savant that can win over the middle in spread passing attacks will appreciate Pearsall’s efforts in later rounds.

The 1v1’s at the Senior Bowl will be crucial for Pearsall. How well he separates in press man coverage could be a determinant in his final grades from teams.

Player Comp:

Floor Comp: Kadarius Toney

Functional athlete who can create separation with suddenness but doesn’t always live up to big play ability

Ceiling Comp: Julian Edelman

Smart player with nuanced technique who can separate over the middle and make both contested and spectacular catches
