The New York Giants are in a very interesting spot this offseason. With the future seemingly up in the air for head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen, it looks like a roster makeover is coming this offseason. The Giants would also have the No. 2 overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft class if the season ended today as well.

If Schoen does survive this season, he will have a chance to find the next quarterback for the Giants after the Daniel Jones debacle. The Jacksonville Jaguars currently hold the first overall selection, but with Trevor Lawrence already in place, they won’t be in the quarterback market. Barring a trade at the top, the Giants could have their pick of any signal caller in the class.

On Tuesday, Schoen was spotted at the University of Colorado for a practice. Chatting with head coach Deion Sanders, obviously there is going to be some speculation around their star quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

Sanders, along with Miami quarterback Cameron Ward, are widely regarded as the top two quarterbacks in the 2025 class. Both players are very, very different styles. Ultimately fit is going to depend on the style a team prefers, and comfort in each of the signal caller’s personality.

Over the past two seasons on the FBS level, Sanders has put out some outstanding film, especially during the 2024 season. During that time, he has thrown for 6,718 yards and 57 touchdowns. Sanders has also only thrown 10 interceptions, added another eight rushing scores, and completed over 71 percent of their passes.

While Sanders isn’t the toolsiest signal caller of all time, he is pretty substantially the most accurate quarterback in the 2025 class. He has also shown a much better command inside the pocket, and Sanders has also been more comfortable making plays outside of structure.

Now this situation could be nothing. The offensive coordinator for Colorado is Pat Shurmur, who was previously a member of the New York Giants staff. It could be as simple as Schoen visiting a friend, but there also could be an anterior motive. The relationship between the Giants and Sanders will be interesting to follow.
