November is almost here, which means it’s about to be one of the most important times of the year for NFL Draft fans: when All-Star invites begin to circulate. We saw our first of the season on Tuesday, with the East-West Shrine Bowl extending invites to a couple of very talented 2025 NFL Draft prospects.
The first invite that surfaced was for Sacramento State offensive lineman Jackson Slater, who has been one of the more decorated offensive players on the FCS level over the last couple of seasons. Slater has been an All-American selection in each of the last two years, currently sitting with 43 career starts.
At 6-3 and 313 pounds, the NFL is well aware of Slater and what he brings to the table. Slater carried draftable grades heading into the season, possessing a nice balance of solid athleticism, physicality, and a ton of experience. He has also played a couple different positions while with the Hornets, which is a huge sell for NFL scouts.
The other invite that was announced was for Tulane defensive back Caleb Ransaw, who is not a big name in the NFL Draft fans, but has a chance to rise quickly during this process. During his college career, Ransaw has collected 101 total tackles, one interception, seven pass breakups, and nine tackles for loss.
Standing a hair under 5-11 and 194 pounds, Ransaw has played mostly in the slot for Tulane. Ransaw spent some time previously with the Troy program, where he was a standout performer for multiple years. It’s his versatility that is the big sell. Showing how many different things he can do could be a huge sell to evaluators on the next level.
This is just the beginning of what will be a chaotic few weeks of All-Star game invites. Buckle up, and prepare for another fun draft process for the 2025 cycle. It’s fitting that the East-West Shrine Bowl kicked things off while sitting as the longest running NFL Draft event on the circuit.
