What is the NFL Combine?
Formally known as the National Invitational Camp (NIC), the NFL Scouting Combine, or NFL Combine, is a week-long, invite-only event where about 300 aspiring NFL rookies showcase their skills.
For NFL teams, it’s an opportunity to evaluate prospects as athletes, teammates, and long-term investments ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft on April 24-26.
The Combine allows scouts to assess draft-eligible college players based on various medical, mental, and physical criteria, serving as a comprehensive job interview. Prospects participate in drills like the 40-yard dash, bench press, and vertical jump while also undergoing position-specific drills and interviews to address team needs.
