The Arizona Cardinals are a team in a really difficult situation right now. Head coach Jonathan Gannon has done some good things during his tenure, but this organization feels like they are firmly in purgatory. That is especially true since their franchise quarterback, Kyler Murray, has never seemed to be able to put it all together.

With the future uncertain for both, this team would be best served to add as much talent to the roster as they can to prepare appropriately for the future. That’s where the 2026 NFL Draft comes in. During the latest 2026 mock draft, the Cardinals found their new quarterback of the future, as well as focused on the trenches on both sides of the football.

Round 1, Pick 8: Ty Simpson, QB, Alabama

The Kyler Murray era is just about over, so finding the next quarterback for the franchise is paramount. Simpson is a much different player than the folks around Arizona are used to. He wins off of getting the ball out on time, making good decisions, and has enough arm talent to challenge tighter windows.

Round 2, Pick 39: Isaiah World, OT, Oregon

When World is at his best, he is an outstanding player. There are just a few too many peaks and valleys right now. The former Nevada transfer boasts all the length and movement skills you could ever want, however, so his figure is very bright.

Round 3, Pick 72: Romello Height, EDGE, Texas Tech

Height is extremely undersized, but he has serious juice coming off the edge. He has had quite the journey in college, including stops at Auburn and Georgia Tech. A role as a designated pass rusher is firmly in Height’s future.

Round 4, Pick 107: Lander Barton, LB, Utah

Long, strong, and explosive, Barton is a very underrated linebacker in this draft class. He has the talent and body type to play multiple linebacker spots, which is very valuable. If Barton is able to stay healthy, he has the upside to develop into a starter.

Round 5, Pick 148: Deion Burks, WR, Oklahoma

When Burks transferred over from Purdue, the expectations were extremely high for what he could accomplish in Norman. Unfortunately for him, injury and inconsistency has limited his potential. You still can’t teach how good Burks is in space, which fits perfectly into today’s game.

Round 6, Pick 188: DeMonte Capehart, DT, Clemson

If you just showed the ten best plays of Capehart, you would swear that he’s a top 100 selection. The problem is that the 6-4, 320-pound behemoth has just never been able to put it all together. He is still a very sound investment somewhere on Day Three.

Round 7, Pick 223: Trey Moore, EDGE, Texas

Moore is a unique case of a winning football player who has tweener physical traits. Despite playing some stacked linebacker, the former UTSA star does his best work coming off the edge. A role as a situational pass rusher and special teamer could be his best-case scenario.
