The Arizona Cardinals are putting together a surprising 2024 season for some, currently sitting with a 6-5 overall record. Even while they are showing some positive signs, there are still clear holes on this roster. This offseason is going to be dedicated to finding answers to those remaining questions.
Obviously an easy way to find holes can come in the 2025 NFL Draft class. While it isn’t a great overall class, there is always value to find. Here are some players that the Cardinals could have their eyes on come April.
ROUND ONE (PICK 18) – Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan
When you are talking about pure talent and upside, Grant is right near the top of the list in the 2025 class. He’s a massive interior defensive lineman at 6-3 and 339 pounds, and also has surprising movement skills for his size. Grant was really inconsistent in 2023, but has been much more dependable so far this season. In 11 games, Grant has recorded 28 total tackles, six tackles for loss, and three sacks. Those are pretty impressive numbers for a pure nose tackle.
ROUND TWO (PICK 50) – Landon Jackson, EDGE, Arkansas
There aren’t many more NFL-ready power rushers in the class than Jackson, who surprised some by bypassing the 2024 NFL Draft class. Jackson, like Grant, continues to add tremendous size to the defensive line. Over the last two seasons, Jackson has recorded 88 total tackles, 24 tackles for loss, and 13 sacks. He plays with an impressive motor, physicality, and football IQ.
ROUND THREE (PICK 82) – Josh Conerly Jr., OT, Oregon
Conerly probably isn’t ready to come in and compete in 2024, but his upside is tremendous. With Paris Johnson Jr. and Jonah Williams in place, there won’t be a need for him to play much early. That should allow for development, and for him to potentially be ready once Williams’ contract has expired after the 2025 season. There are clear tools to work with here.
ROUND FOUR (PICK 119) – Will Lee III, CB, Texas A&M
You don’t often get long and physical cornerbacks like Lee in the fourth round. He’s recorded three interceptions and 15 pass breakups during the last two seasons. At 6-3 and 190 pounds, Lee is one of the bigger cover corners in the class. While Lee is a little rough around the edges, there is starter upside to tap into here.
ROUND FIVE (PICK 155) – Savion Williams, WR, TCU
There may not be a more interesting player in the 2025 class than Williams, who is a former high-profile recruit. He has played wide receiver the majority of his Horned Frog career, but has also seen reps at running back this year as well. Williams could be in a similar mold as Cordarrelle Patterson, utilizing his unique skill set as a movable chess piece of sorts. You just don’t see these types of players at nearly 6-4 and 228 pounds.
