The Arizona Cardinals have designated defensive lineman Darius Robinson to return from injured reserve.

That means that Robinson's 21-day practice window has been opened. The Cardinals must activate him to the active 53-man roster before the end of the 21 days. That could happen as soon as this week as long as Robinson appears to be moving around well.

Robinson has yet to make his NFL debut as he suffered a calf injury during practice back in September, costing him the first five games of the season. Arizona drafted Robinson 27th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. He was named First-Team All-SEC during his senior year at the University of Missouri, recording 14 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks.

At 6-foot-5 and 285 pounds, Robinson has a tremendous blend of power and speed. He should make an immediate impact not only as a pass rusher but also against the run. The Cardinals' defense could certainly use his help as it ranks 25th in the league in total defense and 28th against the run.

The 2-3 Cardinals will travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers on Sunday. They will look to build on their huge win over the San Francisco 49ers last week and get back to .500. Robinson's potential debut would provided a big boost against a very talented Packers offense. If he can't make it on the field this week, perhaps he will in Arizona's Week 7 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football.
