ESPN insider Adam Schefter has reported that Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. has cleared concussion protocol and will play in Week 7 against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football.
Harrison was concussed during the Cardinals' Week 6 34-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers. He followed a limited practice on Thursday with a full practice on Friday without any restrictions. Harrison's return will be highly welcomed as Arizona's offense was lifeless without him last week.
The Cardinals selected Harrison with the fourth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft this past spring. After a tough debut game in Week 1, he exploded in Week 2 with four catches for 130 yards and two touchdowns. Harrison has 17 receptions for 279 yards and four touchdowns total on the season.
He'll face a tough Chargers' secondary this week, which ranks eighth in the NFL against the pass. The return of fellow wide receiver Zay Jones, who hasn't played yet this season due to a suspension and a hamstring injury, could help open things up a bit for Harrison.
The Cardinals' passing game has been very inconsistent this season. There are times it has been explosive, but has also been plenty dormant throughout the first six weeks. Arizona has plenty of talent offensively, perhaps just needing a little more time to gel together. Quarterback Kyler Murray has a respectable 68.2 completion percentage and an 8-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio.
A home primetime game might be just what the Cardinals need following two tough road games. Monday is going to be a "blackout" as they wear their all-black color rush uniforms. Sitting at a 2-4 record, Arizona has entered must-win territory as it trails the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams by 1.5 games in the NFC West.
