The Arizona Cardinals have done a lot to improve their defense during the offseason, but their offense still has some glaring weaknesses.
Arguably the biggest is at the wide receiver position. 2024 first-round pick Marvin Harrison Jr. is the undisputed leader of the group, as Arizona is banking on him to take a major step forward in 2025.
However, the depth behind Harrison leaves a lot to be desired. While making a list of landing spots for notable remaining free agents, NFL.com analyst Jeffri Chadiha pegged veteran WR Keenan Allen as a fit for the Cardinals.
"There are plenty of teams who need veteran help at wide receiver, but Allen fits in Arizona because the Cardinals must unlock all the potential in Marvin Harrison Jr., who was the fourth overall pick in last year’s draft. Arizona leaned on young players like Michael Wilson and Greg Dortch to work with Harrison at receiver in 2024. That’s not going to get it done, not for a team that displayed flashes of being closer to a playoff team than anybody imagined at this time last year. The 33-year-old Allen isn’t the same player he was in his prime — he had four 100-catch seasons in the previous five years before being traded to Chicago in 2024 — but he still knows how to operate from the slot. He delivered solid production with the Bears (70 receptions, 744 yards and seven touchdowns), and he can give quarterback Kyler Murray another dependable target to go along with tight end Trey McBride." — Jeffri Chadiha
Over his 12-year career, Allen has recorded 974 receptions for 11,274 yards, and 66 touchdowns. Even at 32-years-old, he is still very productive — catching 70 passes and seven touchdowns in 2024 with the Chicago Bears. Allen would give quarterback Kyler Murray a legitimate No. 2 WR and open things up more for Harrison.
Arizona Cardinals may be smart to make a reunion happen following one player’s recent performance in the UFL
The Arizona Cardinals have a roster that could see some upgrades if they get active in the late stage of free agency this summer. Adding a former player could make plenty of sense for them in order to improve their special teams depth. Cardinals still need another option at kicker Chad Ryland is currently the […]
