Arizona is alive in the NFC playoff race at 6-5 on the season. Still, it is never too early to take a look at mock drafts. In the latest mock draft from A to Z Sports, the Cardinals took DL Kenneth Grant with their first selection at No. 18 overall.
It was the second-round pick that caught attention, however. Cardinals reunited Harrison Jr. with a former teammate at Ohio State.
Arizona Cardinals select Ohio State CB at No. 50 overall, second-round
Burke could have been drafted last year but returned to Ohio State for his senior season and a chance to win a National Championship. It has been an up-and-down year for Burke, but he remains a technically sound cornerback who has played a lot of football.
The expectation right now is that Burke could fall somewhere in the second or third rounds. This could potentially be the spot for the Cardinals to grab a cornerback for their defense that should be able to compete for playing time right away.
Burke has started since his freshman season at Ohio State and has four interceptions and 26 pass breakups in his college career. The senior has two interceptions this season. One thing that stands out about Burke is he has the ability to be a big hitter. His tackling is questionable at times, but he does have the ability to knock a ball loose.
The Cardinals need to continue adding to an underwhelming secondary outside of Budda Baker. Max Melton was a second-round pick at cornerback for the Cardinals and they do it again in this mock.
Burke and Harrison Jr. surely had Penney of reps against each other in college and they would get that opportunity in the pros as teammates if this mock became true.
