It's a fresh era in Atlanta with newly hired Falcons head coach Raheem Morris.

Several Falcons players shared ecstatic reactions across social media when the news broke on Jan. 25, including star running back Bijan Robinson.

"Praise God! Now let’s rock," Robinson wrote on Twitter/X.

Morris is very familiar with Atlanta after having spent six seasons with the team in offense and defensive roles from 2015 to 2020. In his last year, he took over as interim head coach when Dan Quinn was fired.

Morris re-joins the Falcons after spending the last three seasons as the Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator.

Aside from having excellent coaching skills, Morris is well-known across the league for his ability to connect with players and build relationships, something that the Falcons did not get under former head coach Arthur Smith.

Robinson Appears to Throw Shade at Arthur Smith

In a recent interview with Heavy Sports' Austin Boyd, Robinson opened up about the Morris hire and appeared to throw shade at Smith's lack of leadership skills.

"I think he’s awesome,” Robinson said of Morris. “I think he’s the perfect players’ coach for all of us. I know that he’ll bring this team together in ways that we’ve never seen before. You can tell that he has a plan to get the ball rolling immediately, which that’s what we need. That’s what we want. I know he’s the right the right guy. Just who he is as a person, and what he’s done, and his coaching experience. It’s gonna be pretty fun to be a part of.”

The former Longhorns star finished his rookie year rushing for 976 yards with four touchdowns. He also added 487 receiving yards and four more touchdowns.

Despite a stellar first year at the pro level, many believe Robinson was underutilized with Smith in charge. It's now clear that he thinks so too.

But Robinson wasn't the only offensive weapon that Smith failed to utilize. Former first-round picks Kyle Pitts and Drake London also struggled to live up to expectations in Smith's offense.

There's a lot of confidence in Morris to not only bring out the best in the Falcons' offensive stars but also build a sturdy foundation in the locker room.
