The NFL crew at A to Z Sports put together their own Top 105 NFL Players list, though only those who rank 66-105 have been released for now.
The Atlanta Falcons have had two players fall on the list so far.
Cornerback AJ Terrell popped up on the list first at No. 77.
That's no surprise considering Terrell has been a consistent bright spot for the Falcons since he entered the league in 2020.
A to Z Sports notes that Terrell could be in store for another breakout season in 2024 with the new coaching staff in Atlanta:
A.J. Terrell is on his way to becoming one of the best cornerbacks in the league. Sure, his 2023 season didn’t come close to his All-Pro 2021 year but one could argue that he didn’t have the right coaches and very little help from the rest of the team last fall. Despite those setbacks, Terrell managed to finish the year with a PFF defensive grade of 60 after recording 45 combined tackled, 4 for loss, and a team-leading 11 pass defended. With a revamped coaching staff and defense, we should see Terrell turn it up a notch in 2024 while en route to a contract extension.
Quarterback Kirk Cousins then came in at No. 97.
Similar to Terrell, Cousins gets points for being another consistent player in the league, except he's been that way for 12 years.
Cousins, who signed a $180 million contract with the Falcons in NFL free agency this past March, could be the guy to unlock Atlanta's full potential with their endless offensive weapons:
Kirk Cousins has been playing in three NFL for 12 seasons and he has yet to lose his touch as one if the most reliable passers in the league. Before he tore his Achilles in 2023, Cousins was the fourth-highest rated QB, averaging 291 passing yards and 2.3 touchdowns per game. Sure, winning in the playoffs hasn’t been his forte but at least he’s gotten his teams there and he can do the same, and more, in Atlanta by unlocking his new offense’s full potential.
For how bad the Falcons have been, having two players land on a Top 105 NFL players list isn't too shabby.
We'll see if they have any more players make it closer to No. 1 when the next batch rolls around next week.
