The Atlanta Falcons created a chunk of cap space this week.

According to ESPN's Field Yates, the Falcons restructured left tackle Jake Matthew's contract which freed up about $7.1 million in cap room.

Prior to the move, the Falcons had $2.6 million to work with, but now they have close to $10 million to spend, per Spotrac

There's speculation that with the new amount of cap space. the Falcons could be looking to sign someone to boost their offensive line or another linebacker with Troy Andersen now on injured reserve.

Matthews, 31, signed a three-year, $52,5 million extension with the team last year and the Pro Bowl left tackle has been a major reason why the Falcons' rookie Bijan Robinson has been off to a successful start in his career.
