The Atlanta Falcons have made their first major addition to Raheem Morris' coaching staff by landing former Los Angeles Rams pass game coordinator Zac Robinson as their new offensive coordinator.

Per NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Robinson was Morris' top choice for the position.

The connection between Morris and Robinson is obvious as the two spent three years working together with the Rams. Robinson's first coaching gig was as the Rams' assistant quarterbacks coach in 2019, a position he held for a year before becoming the assistant wide receivers coach in 2020. He returned to assistant QB coach in 2021 when Morris took over as defensive coordinator.

Morris and Robinson's first year together in 2021 resulted in a Super Bowl victory as the Rams won it all in Sean McVay's fifth year as head coach. Robinson then became the quarterbacks coach and offensive pass game coordinator in 2022 and held both positions through the 2023 season.

Robinson was also a popular OC candidate around the league, and especially in the NFC South as both the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were interested in him. He interviewed with the Chicago Bears, New England Patriots, and the Las Vegas Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers were also in the running.

In the end, Robinson's connection with the Falcons' new head coach was enough to get the deal done. He will now be in charge of maximizing the likes of Bijan Robinson, Kyle Pitts, and Drake London.
