The Atlanta Falcons announced two roster moves ahead of this week's matchup against the Detroit Lions.
Per team reporter Terrin Waack, the Falcons signed linebacker Milo Eifler to their practice squad and released Mathew Sexton in a corresponding move.
Eifler, 25, originally went undrafted out of Illinois in 2021 and signed a rookie contract with the New York Jets for the preseason. After that, he made a short stop at the Miami Dolphins before eventually landing with the Washington Commanders.
In his first two seasons, Eifler has appeared in 13 total games for the Commanders.
The Falcons linebackers group has been working through injuries with Adetokunbo Ogundeji (foot) landing on injured reserve last month and Troy Andersen still making his way back from concussion protocol.
In place of Andersen, 2022 undrafted free agent linebacker Nate Landman stepped up big-time in Week 2's win over the Green Bay Packers.
Whether or not Andersen is available come Sunday remains up in the air. Falcons head coach Arthur Smith told reporters on Wednesday morning that Andersen will practice on a day-to-day approach.
Atlanta will release their first Week 3 injury report Wednesday afternoon.
