Atlanta Falcons' starting right tackle Kaleb McGary and starting defensive end Calais Campbell left Sunday's win over the Houston Texans early with injuries.

McGary suffered a knee injury late in the game and did not return while Campbell exited with a "stinger in his trap," but eventually made his way back in.

On Monday, Falcons' head coach Arthur Smith provided some promising injury updates on both players.

“Kaleb, I think nothing major, but we’ll have to see how the week goes along," Smith said. "Calais, same thing. I mean, we have some bumps and bruises, but nothing to report that should keep anybody out long term. Got to see how the next 48 hours go, and who’s available Wednesday.”

With McGary out, veteran backup Storm Norton, who joined the Falcons last month, stepped up in his place to finish the game.

He did not disappoint and his impact that helped lift the Falcons to a 21-19 win didn't go unnoticed by Smith.

"Storm comes in there, doesn't flinch," Smith said following the victory "Credit to our football staff – that's why you continue to look. Right fit, a guy that's played. He didn't blink, and played pretty good football for him and helped us win."

Smith was also asked for an update on starting cornerback A.J. Terrell but did not directly answer the question.

Terrell briefly left Sunday's game for the blue medical tent for a potential head injury but was cleared to return after halftime, so there's likely nothing to be concerned about.

The Falcons will release their first injury report for Week 6 against the Washington Commanders on Wednesday afternoon.
