The Atlanta Falcons are adding another weapon for newly signed quarterback Kirk Cousins.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Falcons are trading quarterback Desmond Ridder to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for wide receiver Rondale Moore.
Ridder, 24, ended up not being the Falcons' answer at quarterback after they drafted him in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, which is why they heavily pursued Cousins.
In two seasons with the Falcons, Ridder started 17 games, throwing for 3,544 yards with 14 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
All of his interceptions in Atlanta were thrown last season.
Moore, 23, was initially drafted by the Cardinals in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He also carried the ball 28 times for 178 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
In 2023, Moore saw action in all 17 games where he caught 40 passes for 352 yards last season.
He will join a relatively young but stacked Falcons offense that includes wide receivers Drake London and Darnell Mooney, tight end Kyle Pitts, and running back Bijan Robinson.
Moore should see a spike in production next fall with Cousins under center.
Falcons could end up in serious trouble following latest NFL report
That’s not good.
